A Content Management System is a quick and easy way to add new content and maintain your own website. And with a little training you can be editing your own changes in next to no time.

If you have multiple users working on content creation and management, using a CMS facilitates collaboration. All content is in a central repository that can be accessed from anywhere. Version control means that multiple content editors can work on the same content without worrying about overwriting.

MinsterCMS

Is our in-house written Content Management System which provides a core platform to JasmineDesign's managed website range. We currently have versions of MinsterCMS written in PHP, ASP.NET & Nodejs supporting a wide range of databases and file based storage setups. With support for ASP.NET Core & Headless support coming soon.

We are currently exploring MinsterCMS Static as a Static Site Generator for our Managed Website range on JorvikHosting. We hope to launch MinsterCMS Static in 2024.

Git Based CMS

Git based CMS can support all major Static Site Generators. Allowing you to manage your site's content with the tooling you are happy with, plus you can add a admin section to your website using a Git Based CMS to allow your staff to manage your website using web pages with standard editors.

The changes are pushed back to GitHub and then a GitHub action can take care of publishing a new version of the website to your hosting.

Static Site Generators

Static Site generators (SSG) take a directory with contents and templates which it renders into a full HTML or JS website that can then be deployed to a CDN based hosting environment.

We really like to work with Eleventy which can be added to a static website or used to transform a directory of files and templates of varying types into HTML, which can then be deployed onto CDN based Hosting.

Headless CMS

Allows you to manage blocks of content which are stored in a database but then served though an API to the front-end website, which does not need to be tied to the same technologies as your CMS.

A Headless CMS gives the site editors, web pages and standard editors to work with, but developers can make use of the contents using API accessed from their code. This also means that the content can be used anywhere you can access the API's.

WordPress

WordPress has evolved from an extremely popular blogging platform to a fully featured and customisable CMS. Its flexibility and relatively quick setup makes it ideal for clients who need full control over their website content or a fully-featured blogging platform.

You can also setup WordPress as Headless CMS, this keeps the standard editor tooling but allows you to use the data in new ways.

Umbraco

Umbraco is an open source content management system (CMS) platform for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets. It is written in C# and deployed on Microsoft based infrastructure.
