Christmas Sprout JasmineDesign

I would like to thank everyone that has been a customer of JasmineDesign or has interacted with us online in 2018.

JasmineDesign is now on holiday until 2nd of January but as I start my Christmas holiday I thought it would be a good time to look back over the last year which has seemed very short!

This year has seen a major move to "Cloud First" with "Configuration As Code" as standard, along with a move to SSL as default and a focus on containers not machines.

We have also seen the growth of some really great Development tools starting to appear that are Fully browser based. I have keenly been watching these new tools and services and have started our code page to talk about this more and track some of the growing list of tools.

In the last part of the year JasmineDesign has moved to focus more on a range of products to solve some of the common website problems that have hindered us and many others around creation, hosting, deployment and monitoring websites.

I have spent a lot of time in Visual Studio Code working on our TypeScript core for the new systems, also quite a bit of time in the last few months using Go whilst building out and integrate our new container and logging systems for the core products.

I have also started to look at adding SignalR core to offer real time feedback.

I have been looking to see how we can be multi cloud to offer the best possible uptime for our customers. The main question that I have been trying to answer is should we operate on multi cloud or have systems that fail back to another cloud provider, I will share more of the details around this soon.

I would like to thank everyone on the VS Code, TypeScript, PowerShell and Azure teams who have allowed me to grow our product offering at great speed this year, knowing that every release grows in feature and function.

In the new year the current plan is to finalize the testing of our core platforms then finish the front end code for our hosting control panel and web builder.

JasmineDesign will also be updating our brand sites as part of the roll out for JorvikHosting, JorvikWeb, JorvikPage and JorvikCloud over the first part of 2019.

I hope to make more time each week to offer insight into how we are solving the current issues we are working on or maybe just to talk about what I am working on.

Finally I would like to say thank you to a few companies that have supported us over 2018 which are 20i, Cyber Host Pro, Digital Ocean and DNSimple for great all round service that has allowed me to focus on running my company and not problems.

Happy Christmas

See you in 2019.

Week starting 6 August - We are in the process of updating our website. Sorry for any inconveniences caused, we hope you like the new look and feel.

Week Starting .

Over the last few months we have been working a lot on our internal tooling and Infrastructure to make sure we are not too dependant on any one supplier of cloud services and that we have a plan B lined up should we need it.

We have also been testing our backup and restore functions, to make sure we do not get any surprises down the line should we need to be able to restore some data.

At the same time we have been working on our internal products and brands, some of these changes will start to roll out over the next week or so and we have moved all our brand sites over to support SSL as standard.

All our new sites in the future will support SSL as standard from day one.

Some of the topics above are going to feature heavily in our new site and product range going forward, the site is coming along nicely but we don't have a release date to share just yet but its very close now.

GuestWeb.uk offers tailored Websites & Web services for accommodation providers.

This week we will also plan to release more information about our up and coming release of a New product range from SimpleRooms which is called Available2 Book and the start of a site refresh for GuestWeb.uk
